deletion of partition

I have one query, when we delete the partition is it necessary to reboot the server or we can use partprobe -s???

Need ur help guys.

partprobe -s is enough. This command re-reads the partition table.

When you restart the server then also the same thing happens. The partition table is read to check if any changes has happened.

If we reboot the server then it will become "Microsoft Linux"  :)  . No need to reboot the server ...

Deleting partition can be done online.
